Choosing a web hosting is relatively time consuming, if you want to find a good and
reliable web hosting provider, you will need to define your website point of interests.
In other words, what type of structure is your site.
- Is your site a database driven site.
- Is your site has significant number of pages.
- Does your site require a heavy maintenance.
So, it all comes out to three fundamental points: Site type, Site size, and Site audience.
This will lead us to believe that you need a web hosting that support three fundamental
yet basic points:
Size type: web hosting that support database drive application i.e.: mysql, mssql.
Site size: web hosting that support a large disk space and ability to increase it.
Site audience: if you get a lot of visits then you will need a higher bandwidth support.
Also, customer support and tech support is very important in keeping your site crash/down free.
So pay attention to that as well.
Assuming that your site becomes extremely popular, then you may need to transfer your site to a
dedicated server (your site in one server), so that you won’t have a problem with site
performance. You will probably going to have to pay a little bid more. Please consult with the
hosting provider about the fee and the time it takes to transfer your site. That’s it for me now,
there are a lot of more tips that I would like to share with you in my next posting. Until then,
good luck to you and remember this “ investigate before you inverst”.
Next Posting: i will talk about more tips and tools about web hosting. Also, i will provide you
with a list of some free web hosting providers as well as paid ones.
